The Children, Inc. Devereux Regional Early Childhood Center offers a number of trainings throughout the year around the midwest to organizations that schedule specific trainings with our training department. As another service, our center also offers two On-Site Training opportunities for educators a year. These DECA On-Site Trainings generally span two to three days and cover a number of topics and include our most popular training modules. These training conferences are certified to go towards your Continuing Education Units and provide each attendee with a vast amount of information on the DECA program. Trainings offered:
2-Day DECA for Infants and Toddlers Implementation Training
November 15-16
Cost: $270 (Early Bird)
$300 (after October 15, 2010)
In this interactive, hands-on training, participants will learn how to implement the DECA-I/T Program within the 5-step system including
- Collecting information on individual children, the home, and the groupcare environment,
- Administering the assessment,
- Scoring the assessment and summarizing results,
- Developing and implementingplans for the environment (home and group care), the child, and theadult caregiver, and
- Evaluating progress.
2-Day DECA for Infants and Toddlers Local Program Mentor Training
November 17-18
Cost: $495 (Early Bird)
$550 (after October 15, 2010)
The 2-Day Local Program Mentor Training will help prepare DECA-I/T Program Implementation Training participants to return to their local programs and offer technical assistance and workshops as necessary on the DECA-I/T Program. Time will be spent on reviewing DECA-I/T Program key messages, discussing training and mentoring tips and techniques, and troubleshooting with program staff.
**In order to attend this training, participants need to have attended both days of the DECA for Infants and Toddlers Training conducted by a DECA –I/T Program Certified Trainer.

Parking is available at the Comfort Suites Conference Center at no charge.
Airport
Greater Cincinnati International Airport (CVG) is the closest airport to the training facility. It is approximately 12 miles from the training site and the lodging listed. Newport, KY is directly across the Ohio River from Cincinnati.
Lodging Information
A block of rooms have been reserved at the Comfort Suites Riverfront from February 28-March 4, 2010 at the rate of $90 per night. The block of rooms will be held until February 10, 2010, so please book your room early. The training will be held onsite at this hotel. Participants are responsible for booking and paying for their own lodging. When making reservations, please let them know that you are with the DECA Training Group #4861 in order to get the $90 rate. Ground Transportation
There is an airport shuttle to/from the area for $30.00 round trip. Should you want more information about airport shuttles, please visit www.cvgairport.com. Car rental is also an option but certainly not required. There are a variety of restaurants within walking distance.
The Southbank Shuttle is a fun and inexpensive way to visit all of Cincinnati's and Northern Kentucky's Riverfront area attractions, hotels, restaurants, and shopping districts. Southbank Shuttle operates from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday-Friday for a nominal cost of $1.50 per trip. Shuttle Stops are posted at each area hotel. From I-71 (South) toward Cincinnati. At exit 1J take ramp right for I-471 South toward Newport, KY. At exit 5, take ramp right for Park Avenue toward Newport/Bellevue. Turn right onto SR-8/Dave Cowens Drive. Turn left onto Riverboat Row.
Driving Directions to the Training Site from Kentucky
From I-75 (North) toward Ohio. From I-71/I-75 follow signs for I-71 North. As you cross the bridge into Ohio, stay in one of the two right lanes for I-71. Follow sign for I-471 (center lane). Take ramp for I-471 South toward Newport, KY. At exit 5, take ramp right for Park Avenue toward Newport/Bellevue. Turn right onto SR-8/Dave Cowens Drive. Turn left onto Riverboat Row.
